What is Bluebird all about?

Bluebird Arts is an art program in north Denver, created by Megan Broughton, a Denver native with a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. Megan has over 10 years of experience working with young children, including teaching pre-school, teaching 1st - 8th grade art at Berkeley Montessori School, and currently mothering 2 energetic and creative toddlers. She has spent many years caring for and creating with children in Denver, Austin and the Bay Area and is committed to inspiring and sparking the imaginations of kids through art. Classes emphasize the process of art making rather than a finished product and focus on experimenting with various materials. At Bluebird children will find a safe & fun environment in which to explore their inner artist while increasing confidence in their own artistic skills and vision. Bluebird Arts strives to provide a positive and dynamic environment to help foster a lifelong love of the arts.

Open Studio Dates for Fall

Open Studio Sessions

A chance for you and your child to explore several different art projects at your own pace, Open Studio is the perfect way to see what Bluebird is all about and learn more about what types of art interest your child.  There are 3-4 stations set up, each with a different project to try. Please send an email w/ your name, child's name, age and a phone # to reserve your spot. A session is 1 1/2 hours long but you can arrive when ever you like and stay for as long as you want. Each Session is $5/per child.

Fall Class Schedule

Fall Session October 20th - November 12th

Fall Crafts for pre-schoolers age 2-5yrs

     In this class pre-schoolers will explore autumn and all of its colors and textures, using their creativity to make fun fall projects such as a fall mobile made from leaves collected on a crisp autumn walk. There will also be some festive (not too spooky) Halloween & Dia de los Muertos projects. What better way for kids  and parents to enjoy all the colors of the season through arts and crafts. $35 / 4 weeks

10 - 10:45 am Wednesdays October 20th - November 10th

Toddler Crafts for ages 18mos - 3 yrs

     This class will offer Toddlers and their grown ups an opportunity to delve into all sorts of creations, using a wide variety of materials and methods. It will be a fun way to explore the arts and the individual interests of each child. $35 / 4 weeks

10:15 - 10:45am  Fridays October 22nd - November 12th


Bluebird Babies Stories & Art - for children age 10mos - 2yrs
     Each week Babies and thier grown-ups will enjoy a short story and then create a craft based on the story we've read. This is a fun way to explore art and reinforce early literacy all at once. And of course, the stories will be age appropriate, and the art materials non-toxic & washable. $35 / 4 weeks
11 - 11:30 am Wednesdays October 20th - November 10th

Bluebird Babies - for children age 10mos - 2yrs

    A chance to get your little one involved in the fun of exploring art, making a mess and enjoying the company of other children. Each project is geared toward kids ages 10months - 2yrs and focuses on the process of creating and exploring new materials. Always non-toxic & often edible this is a great way to introduce your child to art, and enjoy creating together. $35 / 4 weeks
11 - 11:30am Fridays October 22nd - November 12th FULL

Crafting Fun - for kids age 6 - 10 yrs
     A class just for Big Kids who want to stop in afterschool to try their hand at making soap, jewelry, candles and more! We'll look at all the ways we can bring artistry to the things we use in day to day life and have a blast making cool things for our homes and our friends. $40 / 4 weeks
4:30 - 5:15pm Wednesdays October 20th - November 10th

OPEN STUDIO
Each Open studio will have various projects set up for you and your child to explore at your own pace, stop in and see all the fun things happening at Bluebird Arts. Suitable for kids ages 1-5 with their grown up. Email mbroughton@hotmail.com  to reserve your space. Fee $5 per child.

BLUEBIRD BABIES session 2

GLUE! session2
This class will offer 2-4 yr olds and their grown ups an opportunity to delve into all sorts of sticky creations, using glue as the base for all kinds of concotions and projects. Glue is NOT just for sticking things together. $35 / 4 weeks
DATES
Fridays 3:15-4pm, August 6th - August 27th
Fridays 10 - 10:45am August 6th - August 27th FULL

COLLAGE session2
3-5 yr olds will develop an eye for putting things together while they get an opportunity to explore many kinds of art materials and make all sorts of whimsical creations in the process. Parents are encouraged to stay and create with their child, however, drop off can be arranged with the teacher prior to class if necessary. $35 / 4 weeks
